HOLY TRANSFIGURATION – Deacon Benjamin Bryant prays in the temple of the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church at 6216 N. Sheridan Road in Peoria. Bryant and the Church recently moved from a smaller location nearby to the former Christian Science Reading Room. The church is part of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.

HOLY TRANSFIGURATION – Deacon Benjamin Bryant found his religious calling in the Russian Orthodox Church and created the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church in Peoria. The church recently acquired and converted the former Christian Science Reading Room at 6216 N. Sheridan Road in Peoria.

BRIDGE WORK – Workers build piers for the new eastbound span under construction next to the McClugage Bridge on Tuesday, March 23 in Peoria. Work is expected to last through most of 2022.

WYOMING STREET FIRE – Peoria firefighters knock down hot spots from a house fire Thursday, March 25 at 2813 W. Wyoming Street in Peoria. The Peoria Fire Department responded at about 2:30 p.m. to find flames shooting out the front of the house. According to Battalion Chief Ralph Phillips, three dogs died in the blaze. No one was home at the time and no one was injured.
