Artist Jessica McGhee stands by her new mural “Vivarium” on the back patio of One World Cafe, 1245 W. Main Street in Peoria. McGhee painted over an old mural that was decaying and damaged by recent renovations to the popular restaurant. The new mural is also part of a renewed effort to reinvigorate and expand the art scene at One World.

Crystal Peterson of Peoria is turning a former Subway restaurant at 407 S. 4th Street in Dunlap into Smooth Sips, a cafe featuring smoothies, coffee and Bubble Tea plus food items like paninis, hot dogs, waffles and bagels. Smooth Sips will also offer a selection of spices from her other business Seasonest LLC.
